Hi Tom - I've been back on the DE for the better part of 3 years now, and I have been curious for some time how the old razor that once served me well would compare. So, I finally got around to trying it out. I shouldn't have shaved with that old cartridge, however.
I used to shave with it in the shower, with just soap or shampoo for lather, and it worked well for me then.
What I was never able to use is the Mach 3. I could do a north-south stroke, but any effort to change direction felt like it was going to catch and tear. I tried it several times, several months between efforts, and always had the same experience.
