open combs-old style. shaving angle?

question for those that use the Merkur 11c or MP open combs. i mainly use a M HD but wanted to try their open comb version. w/ the HD i found it shave better the higher i held the handle up, more parallel to the ground. this doesn't work as well w/ the M OC. what do you do w/ your OC? thanks.
