bottom end rebuild?

yesterady i let a friend take my norton 750 commando around for a spin. he was supposed to take it easy, but i heard him really getttin on it. the bike came back being pushed. the cluatch cable appeared to be broken becasue of the slack on the clutch lever. but when i try to kick the bike over, i dont feel any compression. will i need a bottom end rebuild?
