78 yam. 750 headlight and lights in gauges quit working

I have a 78 yamaha 750 special, i took the tank and the carbs off to clean them and when i was done my headlight and light in gauges didnt work any more. I checked the fuses and the wire connections under the tank but they were all connected. Any ideas?
