Hey man i just bought a 1982 650 seca that sat for 16 years also!! all i did was clean the carbs by soaking them in gas and choke cleaner. They had gas in them the whole time so they were bad but it runs like a dream now!! As for the carbs you are ####ed my friend as i found out today!! the carbs are hitachi and were discontinued in 82' so you will have to search online for them!!!

: : I've got an '81 XJ650H Maxim in the tool shed. Bought it 2 years
: ago, and haven't been able to get the title straightened out.
: Finally did! It needs tires and fork seals, the exhaust is ugly,
: and I was thinking or rejetting the carbs for K&N aftermarket air
: filters. Its not hard... the primary jets are the only ones to
: change, and as for getting it running, its basically just take 'em
: off, clean 'em up good with carb cleaner (might want to CAREFULLY
: pull the jets and needle/seat assembly) and put 'em back in.
:
: Do you know what kind of carbs they are? Mikuni or Keihin are the
: most likely....
:
: Write to me with more (or even for more) info....

: Bike was running perfect when parked there, and was kept dry. I
: plan on a big clean up, but need advice on getting her running.
: Carb cleaning, wd-40 etc... any tips appreciated!
