Rob-
Im not sure what you can do to fix your problem, however, I had just bought a 82 yamaha 750 xjmaxim, and I want to change out my headlight for a more up to date one, what kind of mounting bracket did you use?
Also, do you have any suggestions about changing the housing for the speedometer from that crappy looking square to a more up to date one???
