My Yamaha V-Star 1100 (Classic) will not stay idling it pops and chugs, and burps and farts almos all the time now. When at full throttle it bigs down, BAD. It sat for about 5 months during the winter, and I did not ran out the gas in the lines before storing. Do they need to be cleaned ? Because the floats are stuck, needles clogged ? Or can I run it out of gas in the lines, then empty the tank, use a cleaner after that by itself, and then maybe fill the gas tank .... OR do I need to disassemble the carbs and clean them ? If so, is there any type info on the rebuilding of the carbs ANYWHERE on the web ? No, I do not have a manual, but am very good at re-building pretty much anything with a gas engine (boats included). Am I shooting in the dark,or should I just take it to Yamaha and let them do it ? I've already tried to adjust the air/fuel mixture screw... but it won't stay idling without the choke on, and pops when I throttle it. I'm really stumped. Sorry for all these damn questions, but I haven't found a site yet that has been even a bit useful other then yours.
