HI,
I own a 2002 yamaha vstar 1100 custom. The bike has 15,000 on it and has always been reliable. Replaced the stock battery with a WESTCO this spring (april)...no problems all summer. 2 weeks ago, I stopped for about 15 minutes and the battery was low voltage, lights and gauges, not enough to crank the starter over. had it towed. Tried to diagnose the problem, pulled battery, placed it on a Battery Tender and decided that I may need a new Starter relay.. no problem. Replaced that yesterday, put the battery back on, went for a ride today. Rode for about 35 miles, stopped for about 20 minutes, went to start the bike, fired right up. Rode for another 5 miles, stopped for about 45 minutes, came out.. no start, battery power minimal, low voltage. riding two up, pop started the bike, 10 mile ride home. Shut the bike down, waited for about 30 seconds and it statred right up. Going to wait for about an hour and see if she will start. Stumped at this point.. New battery this spring, new starter relay, Am I missing something?? Electrical drives me nuts. Thanks for any advise.
