Hi Ed,
I believe the mixure screw in the "regular one" where as the phillips in the idle adjustment. The engines will sound "tinny" when to lean and "rough" when to rich. If it is hot get a fan blowing on the engine to keep it cool while adjusting the carb. If your up to it strip the carb and give it a clean with pressure pack carb cleaner, mind the fumes, it will do wonders.
