Hello all,
I am not sure if it is the usual thing to do or not, but I thought i would just quickly introduce myself as a new member !!
I live near Preston and have a keen interest in walking old lines ... (whilst the wife and i both enjoy walking, she does not have quite as keen an interest as me in old railway lines, but you can't have everything can you) !!
Anyway being based in the Northwest we are quite blessed with well established and long(ish) railway line walks in easy reach e.g. Keswick, Caton-lancaster etc, but also there are some much smaller, obscure bits of path like at Knott End, Garstang etc
My keen interest arose accidently really as for a number of years running, we rented cottages throughout the UK ..... and by complete accident every time there was an old railway line nearby !!! This occured on 3 consecutive holidays in France too !!
Anyway, i will go for now as you will all be bored !! I look forward to speaking to some of you in the future.
