Posted by Some Norwegian Just some comments: "..the glorious regime of Vidkun Quisling.." What glorious regime?! Quisling was the leader of Nasjonal Samling, probably the smallest party in Norway at the time, and during the war, he took control over Norway. Norwegian forces had not yet surrendered, so it was also not, as you claim, "after the fall of Norway to victorious German invaders". He then ordered the Norwegian armed forces to stop fighting, but ofcourse they didn't (he had almost no support amongst the Norwegian population). He was later, when proven incompetent, removed from his position by the Germans, and was reduced to a marionet. "Much to the dismay of the Norwegian race, Quisling was deposed after Germany's defeat." There was no dismay. He was a traitor! The citizens of Norway wanted him dead (too bad he wasn't shot some years earlier, though..) "Quisling and his government revolutionized Norway in a way that had not been done since its prior occupation by Sweden." They sure did. But not to the better. And also: Norway has never been occupied by Sweden. We had the same king (1814-1905), but that was about all. "These men represent the finest the Nasjonal Samling party has to offer." That's odd - the Nasjonal Samling doesn't really excist anymore. By whom? Not the Norwegians, that's for sure!

"The years of 1940-45 are remembered as a high point in Norwegian history."
