Pat, very few (if anyone) here is saying the Mayor has been flawless in her performance. I would argue that she's been terrible in many ways.
The politics in this city are in a terrible state, and I think that the Mayor, many members of Council have to bare some responsibility for this.
Do we need openness and transparency? Of course! Should our elected officials be accountable for their actions? Of course! Have some of them, in the past, not been held accountable for misuse of public funds? Yes!
You portray yourself as some sort of tragic heroine, one that defends right now because she wants to, but because no one else will step up.
What does it tell you when so many people talk about you in a negative manner? Are all of those people loyalists to the Mayor? Or is there some sort of lack of understanding?
I believe you are a good person that is totally misguided. Whether you choose to believe/accept this or not, you are one of the PRIMARY REASONS THE POLITICS IN THIS CITY IS SO UGLY. Yes, you often provide the public with truth, but that truth is buried in so much manure and politicking and manipulation that it is about as trustworthy as the sales pitch of an infomercial that runs at 3am.
Look at Thapar's "Fast Financial Facts" on this website. I've independently examined most of them, and, at best, the majority are half-truths. Some are outright deceptions. This thing about the Leonard Ave case... YES, the Judge "said" what you quoted, but NO, the Judge was not explaining his opinion.
Your manipulative attempts are SOOOOOO transparent that it makes it impossible to agree with you on anything. I've told you many times that I am inclined to side with you on many issues in principle, but I can't stand your methods. Frankly, I'm embarrassed to be associated with your type of politics. Speaking with folks in the community leads me to believe that this will be the end of Ron and Sushil's political involvement with the city.
You say some new scandal is coming? What is it? Why don't you lay out the argument, with no spin, no bias, just facts. Then we can work together and come up with a way to challenge the City? Your way is obviously not working, maybe it's time to switch things up?
Kefka...I really appreciate what you have to say. If you would like to take over quesnelnews and provide information on the actions of the city lets discuss it. I really would like to get on with other things.
One thing Kefka, I have been a business person in this community for almost 40 years and have gained more clients than I have lost due to my views. Clients know they can count on me to get their concerns dealt with regardless of the level of government. They also know if they disagree with me politically, I will still respect them...so unlike most of the politicians at City Hall.
