The argument of "we can't afford to invest in our community is illogical unless you are planning to close up and let the city deterriorate.
Governments around the world are planning stimulous packages to keep people working and therefore their economies ticking over. Now is the time to invest in infrastructure, including multicentres.
China announced that they were going on a massive rebuild of their countries infrastructure to the tune of 586 billion dollars. Guess who was the first out of the gate in praise of this stimulous package - Minister of Finance in the conservative government Mr. Flarity. Why ? Because he sees international export opportunities for Canadian companies.
The question will be whether we take this opportunity nationally, provincially and most importantly locally to invest in our future.
