Sorry for not paying attention earlier...The 100 cheque was given only to the spouse that filed a tax return. In order for the other party to receive a cheque they must fill out an application form.
I think this is a real mess and when taxpayers called about why they didn't receive a cheque they were told they had to file a tax return...NOT TRUE! It took over a week to get CRA to change their answers to the public. Parents received the money for their children and they did not have to file a tax return.
