I mean come on, Gieger only got 2 years for a murder that he hid/lied about for 23 years. Meanwhile, even with how corrupt Luzerne County is, they are putting people away for longer sentences for lesser crimes. They were looking for "Rilley" and they saw "Reiley". Then, they all said like yourself, "I bet he is a good feller.
