how do strengthen my abilities ?

i have the power to transfer thoughts into other peoples minds(this is definately true as i have had a no. of experiences with people understanding what i signal to them with my mind)though the problem is that i cannot control my thoughts at times and i transfer my emotions as well.i would like to know that if such kind of power exists,is there a way to control thought transfer and how can i develop my abilities ......
