Maggio Motorsports Sets WORLD Record for MPH Posted by mikemaggio on July 13, 2012, 4:00 pm Our team set the WORLD RECORD for MPH at 261.09 this past weekend in Mission, British Columbia, Canada. We can now claim the title of Fastest Doorslammer in the World! Many thanks to those of you who have made comments of congratulations and support, it means so much to our team. The crew works many long hours, off and on the track, to make our car the record breaker that it is today. Without each and every crew member’s dedication, commitment and hard work we wouldn’t be able to realize any of the accomplishments we’ve made in the recent years. Our sponsors have been vitally instrumental to our success and we appreciate them more than we can say; Magco Drilling, Inc., Lucas Oil, Hoosier Tire, Crower Clutches, JE Pistons, Local Speed Shop, Mait, MC Automotive, Ice Chest Toppers, EPPS, MCM Enterprises, Inc., Outlaw Studio Equipment. I give special thanks to those of you who do not believe our numbers are legit. I’ve always believed that if people aren’t talking about us, good or bad, then we must be losing our edge and not doing anything worth talking about. The experience we had at Mission Raceway Park this past weekend was one of the best. The people of Mission Raceway Park were helpful, supportive and fun. The racers and fans who attended were great! The Canadians are good people and we would jump at the chance to race with them again. For those of you who want more data, here you go: Take one very motivated team owner, add a very talented crew chief (Kirk Kuhns) and a dedicated and hardworking car chief (Martin Charles). Double your estimated man hours needed, and then add one of each of the following: a great clutch man and co-driver (Wade Maggio), a solid bottom end man (Hugo Sanchez), and a very knowledgeable and experienced assistant to the crew chief (Bill Kuhns). Throw in an awesome tire & oil man and assistant to the clutch man (Josh Rowley) and a thorough chute packer and videographer (Renee’ Parker). Don’t forget a good photographer (Bob Spriggs). If you don’t add your sponsors, the calculation will not add up no matter how hard you try. You will also need to add one gifted car builder (Chris Duncan). Once you have this formula down, you will need to calculate your ratios; great ideas to frustrating arguments, failed tests to successful tests, time spent on all things racing to time spent on work and family, and arguments with the wife about money being spent on racing to making her yell and scream with joy at the starting line with a record breaking run. You’ll need to subtract any and all head games that people try to throw at you and all bad attitudes. Multiply everything by the amount of love and support (it will have to be a very large amount) you receive from your fans, friends (especially Gavin Watt) and family. What you’ll end up with is the winning combination that we have, which allows us to make record breaking runs like we did this past weekend at Mission Raceway Park in Canada.
