It's always nice to see the s##t getting stirred up like the good old Limited Street days... And as usual I wind up being the center of conversation. I do this on purpose to keep the class interesting. I raced him, I left early, I lost, "Period" and that's how it's in the books. Now that you know how I feel about the race I'll get on to how the call was made.
The starter told us to fire them up, I did and assumed he did as well. The Official at the arch held up One finger which in drag racing means a single. I pulled to the box, did my burnout, proceeded to stage and then as I pulled to the beams they threw the reds. (Maybe they should have been watching the stalled car on the track more closely but these things happen in racing?)I tried to keep it running but Copper Top told me to kill it because it was going to take a while. They pushed me back and I waited. I have radio communication so I asked my crew if I was still a single. Dale on my crew said yes they towed the car back to the pits. I told him ok and that it sucked that he couldn't get it going. I asked this question because I would have assumed that they would keep trying to fire it under the arch at what time I would expect him to come forward to race. However He did in fact leave the starting line and then returned back via the exit lane from the starting line. (I have never seen this and have been Drag Racing cars for 30 years) Now I go to the starting line and am ready to race and the single I have clearly in my head now has a car next to me that just showed up. I pre staged he pre staged, I staged and when he staged he started to roll deep and flickered the bottom bulb. I reacted to that and lost. The question at hand is the rules are if you leave the starting line you do not race. Doug Sikora was told this after he left the "Commitment Line" and came back that he could not run a couple of years ago. Mel says he never left the starting line? I would like to know did this car go anywhere other than from the arch to the burnout box??? Jason you were in the car, did you head back to the pits and then turn around and come back up the return road? Apparently the officials missed this if it happened? I really don't give a crap and the round is yours. I just want to know being is the Officials keep saying you never left the starting line and myself, DJ or any other Outlaw 8.5 Racers couldn't see this because it was behind me and around the wall of them. D.J. You are doing well and have allot to say and that's cool. However we are not racing under a bridge with a flashlight start or a bald guy with a hand drop and a do over. This is an Organization that is run by written rules and maybe the Officials should be watching the starting line activity more closely. Because if a car left the starting line and they didn't see it and are stating that it didn't leave? then there is a big purple elephant in the room and nobody can see it. I am honestly more interested in quality calls being made than pictures of the event.

: The other car never left the front of the
: tower, Gary would've been on a single but
: the track threw the reds for a something on
: the top end.. During that time Jason was
: able to start his car... Both cars did
: burnouts, Gary left first before the tree
: was activated giving the win to Jason (This
: was the John Force Rule from a few years
: back when there was a double DQ)
:
: Jason won per the NHRA RULE BOOK enforced by
