What's up with screwing Gary in the first rd of 8.5?

Jason was pulled back to the pits, Gary is told he has a single, does his burnout and starts to stage, and then gets pulled back because Slim was on the track...
then suddenly, Jason pops back in after they got Slim off the track and you let him run... He shouldn't have been allowed to run at all.

Then to make matter worse, both cars leave before the green and you don't dq them both.

Same thing happened to Lonnie and Bowman at SCSN a few years ago and you dq'd them both.

What's with the selective rules enforcement?
