No Mel doesn't have his livelihood on the line right now. This is a decision that he made full well knowing that Fontana was a problem. Full well knowing that Fontana was not going to have the problem remedied at all for this season, and that this result was highly likely. There was a date on Speedworld's schedule for PSCA. Mel chose to schedule 5 races at Fontana. He chose to do that, full well knowing what the situation is. He did it anyway. We know why [he makes more at Fontana than Vegas or Speedworld], but it doesn't matter. What has happened, has happened. This was completely foreseen, and yet he went down that road anyway. Yes, he has a job to do. Yes, he is paid well for it. This is not a public service that he is providing. He is not a martyr for the cause. If it didn't make him money, he wouldn't be here doing it. I saw the other post posing Mel as a saint slaying dragons so that we have a place to race... ohhh please. Really?? And to make it one step more clear, he will only do what makes it best for him specifically. You will not see a race on the schedule for anywhere that he doesn't feel it will make him the most money possible. I congratulate him for his successes, but this time he slipped and fell knee deep in a big pile of poop... right next to the sign that says CAUTION KNEE DEEP PILE OF POOP STAY CLEAR. Mel risked [sold] his livelihood when he made the schedule. Now the dealer is calling in his cards.
