A waste of time? I don't think so, this is the most conversation this board has had all year. Any time you can get the flock to talk it's a good thing. The 174 or so that have voted pretty much equals the average existing car count so let's assume most of the regulars have checked in. This gets back to the core issue, what kind of changes will attract more cars?
There are other things besides what tree is used, I would love to see everyone suggest what might draw more cars rather than defending what we already have. Having only raced for the past two years I'm still a newbie compared to a lot of you guys who have been here a long time, there must be some feelings about what could be better.
This should not be about bashing PSCA, Mel or any other PSCA member. However there may be some issues that need to be said that will be a little tough, but it's for the overall good.
I'll put two out there. When I got back into racing a little over two years ago I ran a couple of SCEDA and Summit ET races. When I asked some of those racers about PSCA I got a lot of negative comments. The perception from these people was that PSCA was a bunch of tough guy renegade type racers (didn't you know you guys are meanies). Well I decided to try it anyway and nothing could be further from the truth, what a great bunch of guys and gals, I love it. So where does this come from? I'm not sure but maybe the next issue is part of it, pit parking or at least the approach to it. A new racers first experience is pit parking. I'm just putting it out there, this is not always the best first experience for a new racer. I've have tried to bring a few guys into PSCA and pretty much all of them have come to me afterward and asked "what the hell is the deal on pit parking?". I know there are logistics involved, I know there may be a need to have certain cars in certain places but something is going wrong with the approach. It's a critical first step to bringing new people in, brainstorm it, it can be handled better.
Okay, that's just what I've honestly experienced, we've got to get it out there so Mel can make it better. Again, not bashing, just trying to think of how we can get more cars in, there are lot of guys that run Summit and not PSCA so why? Not all of them are because of cost...
I know this is off the original post topic, sorry 'bout that, I just think there's more to it than what tree is used in Mean. We all want PSCA to be doing very well...Mel might want to buy a new truck or something..

: the poll (post) currently has over 800 views
: and less than 200 votes. i would hope we
: have over 200 potential racers out there, if
: there are less than 200 potential racers
: intersted in all of these clases, this is
: all a waste of time.
