I have a stock suspension car with a single 106mm turbo on it and I wanted to come to Vegas if my finances allow for this year’s SCSN race in the small drag radial class. I was just looking over the SCSN Mickey Thompson’s 275 class rules. I saw what must be a typo in the rules surrounding power adders. Turbo cars are limited to 98mm that is good for about 1900hp but supercharged cars are allowed up to a F-3A-123 that can support 2200hp with a gear driven unit at the same weight as the 98mm turbo? Seems a slight advantage to the supercharged combos.
The typo in the rules is for a 50# weight add you can run any supercharger above that including a F-3R-139 that can support 2700hp?!! For the same 50# add can I run any turbo I want? 50# for a supercharger that can make up to 600hp more? This must be a typo and if it is not a typo can I run larger turbo with the same penalty?
I really would like to attended this event but I do not want to have to purchase the 98mm turbo and then have to race against cars that are only 50# heavier and pack some 600hp more. If I can run the larger turbo it would not only save me some funds but and would feel it would be a closer match to the F-3R super charger cars.
Please let me know if I can run the larger turbo with the same weight penalty as the larger supercharger or if this is just a typo?
I have followed the race for the past years and look forward to attending the event.
