The 03/04 season is underway now here in Tahoe City. Plake is on the road with Warren Miller, Anaiah Kirk is refining his skills in the park at Mammoth, Ben Wheeler is schralping pow at Snowbird and the little cottonwood backcountry. Garret Giblin is jibbing it up in Park City, Travis Cabral is at the Swiss World Cup mogul event and bumpers, freeriders and skiers alike are settling into their new Predatorwear and finding that they like it. And in the words of Timmy Meagher (steamboat coach), "Very much so."
Plans for the local Predator crew have shaped up nicely. Tony Basile, Scott Fitzmorris, Kevin Gagne, myself and others from Squaw and Alpine teams are bumping it up, getting ready for the competition season, culminating on Dec. 8th with US Selections in Park City. From there, we will pursue the pro mogul event in Park City, chase glory through Nor-Am events leading toward Nationals and World Cup.
We're getting some snowmobiles here and for the first time, the Predator crew will be seeking prime backcountry locations for jumping and shooting digital via snowmobile. This is a very exciting prospect, and we look forward to sharing images from those pursuits with you here on our website, and through our industry's fine publications, Freeze and Freeskier and others.
The 2004/05 Predatorwear line will be displayed during the SIA Vegas show late in January, tearing us off the hill and into that freaky desert oasis for over a week, before we return with smiles, fat orders and a craving for pow-pow and bumps. Other than that, we'll see you at Squaw.
