Rickey, I'm going to get the book and I am sure it will cover what I am looking for, but as the old saying goes "You learn more from talking to the master than reading what he writes" At least it works best for me that way!

: Thanks Rickey! I usually squat about shoulder width with my
: feet.
: I think my technique and form are OK with this, I hit parallel
: or a little under, I can do about 450 LBS. this way, but I have
: always felt that I could do more if I could go wider, logic
: being not having to go as deep with the leverage of being wider.
: What stretches do you recommend? I have also started doing pause
: squats as an auxillary exercise. Do you think I should try going
: wide with those with a lighter weight?

: Rickey, I have a problem squating in a wide stance. My hips hurt
: me on the way down and it seems as though I have no power coming
: up. Everything I have read and seen suggests that in order to
: have the big squat, you must lift like this. Is that a true
: statement? What suggestions do you have to help correct this
: problem I am having.

: Good day..
:
: without seeing you squat or previewing a video of it..i would
: suggest a few things....
:
: check feet width...they might be too wide-wide is better to the
: point of diminishing returns which sounds like you have more
: than hit....
: make sure you have stretched enough before lifting...
: make sure you have warmed up properly....
: bad form may also be a problem.......
: when traning abouve 60-75% train with a loose power suit
: and last of all ot answer all of your questions buy "XTREME
: SQUATTING"...THE 200 PAGE MANUAL ON EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO
: KNOW FOR COMPETITIVE SQUATTING..
