Charity event for flood victims in town square (Sat. Oct 10th). Details...

Sorry for the late notice, but we weren't told of this and are just now getting wind of it... Tomorrow (Saturday Oct. 10) from 11am to 6pm there will be a charity event in downtown Powder Springs in the square for Powder Springs and Austell flood victims. There will be live music, kid activities, and food. They ask that anyone who wishes to donate bring gift cards or monetary donations only to donate to the local charities, as they will not be set up to take in material donations (food, clothing, etc.. so don't bring these - only gift cards or cash/checks). Sounds like it's going to be a rain or shine event, and the rains coming in should turn into "scattered" rains by the early afternoon, so my guess is it'll go on as planned. They list a number of (770) 943-8001 ext. 307 for more info. It will be followed from 7-9pm by the "Movie on the Square" event, where they will be showing the animated movie ICE AGE. Pass it on.
