I am a resident of Powder Springs also. I understand how you feel about the gang problem that we have in our community. In our neighborhood we had 3 drive by shootings in Aug. 2 were at the same house on the same night just hours apart. Where were the police after the first? You would think they would have patroled more knowing that a shooting hag just happened and, one a few weeks earlier just houses apart. This is what really gets me. Someone called and reported a vehicle leaving about the same time the 2nd shooting happened. My son who is 25 was on his way back from taking his girlfriend home. he was pulled over on his way back into the subdivision. He was questioned his vehicle was searched which nothing was found. They were so sure that he was the one who did the shooting. They came to our home and took my husband to get his vehicle so it would not be impounded. Which was very nice they really did not have to do that. They talked to all of us at the house and had 3 alibis that said he was at home all night. We even offered for them to come in and check all of our gun's which they did. And, none of them had been shot. He was handcuffed and taken in for more questioning and detained for several hours. He was given a gun powder test he was told that they would call him with the results. Do you think he has ever recieved a call? They told him even it was not positive they would still call him. That night my husband told me there were 4 police car's from Powder Springs and one from cobb which i assume was the CAGE unit. I have call a number of times fro them to come out because we have 10 -15 boys walking at all hours of the day and night. We all know that we have a gang problem Powder Springs. I really do not think that the police want to admit to it. I know that the police were doing their job the night my son was arrested. But, after we were told on the scene that they were sure he did not do it they should have done the test and let him go. I do not think that it sould take 4 cars to pull over one vehicle. We all need to band together as a community and stand firm even if it means that we call the police daily to report large gangs walking in our neighborhoods.
