thats right there are over 45... some are detectives, they dont patrol because thats not their job. the chief and major usually are not out on the road because they have other things going on. also a lot of those 45 are part timers who only work a few days a month. and there are also different shifts. when 5 get off there are another 5 who come on. actually to tell the truth 5 is usually pretty generous because of the officers leaving and being sick and vacation time
