Ignorant people irritate me. What happens if you call the Dallas or Hiram PD? It is transferred to Paulding Co to dispatch. Small city police departments do not have the luxury of their own dispatch center. If you are having trouble "getting an officer" then why don't you call 911 instead of taking the time to look up the Powder Springs Police Dept number? It doesn't take near as long for you to call 911 and get dispatched as it does for you to dial a ten digit number to the actual station. Call 911 (I know that's a hard number to remember if you are over 5 years old) if you have an emergency. Call 770-499-3911 if it is a non-emergency. Maybe the police officers would be more readily available if they weren't handling calls for barking dogs (geez, dogs have always barked, haven't they?) and people b###hing about kids playing basketball next to their house or taking a call from a parent that just "CANNOT" handle their 12 yr old anymore and wants them taken to the youth detention center. Try busting their asses and maybe they will behave better. Which brings up another novel idea. How about the parents disciplining those kids that roam the streets constantly? It's not the police departments job to raise your damn kids. It's your job. If you can't handle it, maybe you should have kept your legs closed or worn a rain jacket. When the police department gets involved, they have to obey the rules set out by Georgia State Law, so all of you lazy, ignorant parents that don't want to control your own children, make sure you aren't the ones that go up to the police department b###hing and griping that they are profiling or harrassing your kid. And you know what, if you don't like it, move somewhere else like Peachtree City...I'm sure they would love all of you down there.
