Posted by Big Smoke What a can of rabid worms that is. Not sure if I got it all squared away or not. But, here goes::: The Reader's Digest version kinda goes like this. This spring, they closed their doors. Ok we all know that. Some folks figured that if they could come up with something similar, they could cut a fat pig in the arse, and the world would beat a path to their doors. Well, maybe so, maybe not so. Heck, I even seriously entertained it, as I have a good clicker, so cutting the patches out would be pretty easy. But, I held off and did nothing, except look for fabric sources. Not so easy, to get good cotton cloth when one knows little about the textile industry. Act three. Act four. Act five. So, there is the abridged version. What a mess. OK, might as well relate other happenings in the biz. It seems like the new owners of Warren Muzzleloading (now Ozone Manufacturing) decided two things. 1) They didn't like moulding lead products, and have sold off the bullet making portion of the business, such as it was. But, they don't say where that went. Too bad, no more ,678 and .715 round ball. back to the lead pot, eh? Then 2) got a letter from them last week saying that due to the success of their other business interests, they will no longer be manufacturing their brass accessories and effective immediately, they are no longer in the muzzleloading business. Oh well, bye-bye. Don't forget to write. Guess that's totally enough for now. Big Smoke

Anyway, what boiled out of this is that the assets of Ox Yoke were auctioned off in August and it is no more. Done, finito, adios, good-bye. And in the meantime, some of the ex-employees of Ox Yoke have banded together and formed a company called Eastern Maine Shooting Supplies and are making patches, lubes and such.
Rightnour manufacturing steps in and buys all the intellectual properties from Ox Yoke before the auction, including the name. So RMC is now producing Ox Yoke products. have not seen anything from them yet. In the demise of Wonderlube, RMC did bring out a product called EC-Lube, which appears to be a tallow and beeswax mix. Not sure if that will go away now or not.
Bridger's Best relocated from Montana to Colorado. I believe the son bought it from the father.
Southern Bloomer Co. thought they would get into the muzzleloading market big time. They printed up labels that look just like the Ox Yoke labels and called themselves Muzzleloading Originals, and put out wads, patches and a lube. It all looks and smells like Ox Yoke stuff.
