Well, you're not all that far from Boise, and there is a good muzzleloading club there that puts on a great rendezvous and a pretty good gun show as well. I think they are called the Ee-da-how Longrifles, or some such thing. Should be able to get in touch with them through one of the gun shops in Boise, Moons still there? Probably not.
Also, I heard a while back that there was a RDV in Yellow Pine around the 4th of July. Whether or not that's still happening, I don't know. Yellow Pine - go to Cascade and turn right. You'll get there eventually. If you hit Stibnite, turn around, you went way too far. Got some fond memories of that area as does my friend and traveling pardner, Ol' Lone Eagle hisownself.
It's a fur piece to travel for a RDV, but on Dad's Day weekend, the Moscow club puts on a great event, followed the weekend after by a good'n in Colfax, WA. Skip a week and the CdA club will be hosting their 31st RDV the weekend after 4th of July.
I'd tend to think that you could find at least as much activity in S. Idaho. Get ahold of a Muzzleblast Magazine and look for the NMLRA rep for that area. He would be sure to have a bunch of info.
Hope this helps.
