Well……I have been on this forum now for a few months and I have found it much more active than first predicted.
To be truthful what with the parent incident at Pepper Harrow, that poor little pony Barnsdale Playtime getting hassle and the ongoing over height ponies chronicle, I must say that some of the threads have been like reading a Dick Francis Novel!
Last season I raced in both East Anglia and the Midlands and this season I plan to run my 128cm & 138cm ponies outside of the Midlands area and I imagined that racing in SE may be an alternative as I need distances of about 5-6 furlongs as they don’t get much further and its not to far to travel from our location.
Nevertheless, in the short time that I have been posting on the forum I sense that a small minority (I might be wrong it may be the majority) of you may feel that I have posted both confrontational and mordant remarks, in particular with respect to the racing schedule from the SE being deficient. I can assure you that it was not my intention to offend the secretary, Helen (who I have spoken to on the phone last week and subsequently kindly sent me a schedule as I was unable to download one……… you may recall our conversation Helen?)
However, I strongly feel that race distances should be promulgated prior to entering as oppose to having to buy a race card to find out. It was interesting that the only users to date who replied to the thread approved of all my observations and comments! In comparison, what quantifies a ‘South East Novice Rider’ needs clearing up.
I have been consistent and always used the name Draper as oppose to my own as that what people tend to do on forums. It’s pointless constantly changing your user name as you can see from the ISP address above the message (84.69.145.177) what PC it came from.
I can assure you that there are people on this forum with 4 or 5 different user names………but to be brutally honest, who cares? My real name is Mark and my daughters name is Lucy………Does that now make any difference?
I have now added my private e-mail address, so please feel free to contact me if you wanted to talk about anything in particular in private. If you add a contact number I will gladly give you a call.
Thanks for taking the time to read this
Best Wishes
