Quote....it's about 4-6 ferlongs for 13-2 and 5-8 ferlongs for 14-2s in point 2 points So George……That extra 2 furlongs for a 138cm and nearly an additional half-mile for a 148cm could be quite a big ask for some older racing ponies, in particular a hunting/PC pony especially if the final 2 furlongs are up hill on heavy going say at Godstone! That’s why I would certainly want to know the distance my pony was expected to run before I enter. Remember a furlong is over 200m in distance.
