I drove into plumpton today with my ponies and was greeted by the children organizers and parents all sitting and playing together and having a thourghly good time. What a fitting way to end the season. The racing was great too and i think we all provided good entertainment to the Plumpton crowd who had stayed on to watch.
Well done to keeley for winning two days on the trot and also to George Crate who rode very impressively to beat Tabithas pony who i thought was the surest thing all weekend but seemed to lack the extra gear on the firm ground.
The Little Brown Mare has run her last race - she has provided some great entertainment for all over the last three seasons and has given Hector a real thirst for racing - she will be playing polo and maybe might produce some future pony champions at some point.
Pony racing is not yet over for everyone as some will be racing in the Charles Owen series in which i think the South East may have a strong hand this season.
Thanks Helen you have been a real star - loved the announcing today hope we dont loose you to a new proffession!
