Dear Dr. DellaCroce,
I will be exchanging my tissue expander for a silicone implant soon on my "cancer" side. But I will also be adding a silicone implant to the "good, normal" side.
My question is:
If you were doing the surgery, would you place the silicone implant under or over the muscle on the good, normal side? The implant will go under the muscle of the "cancer" side.
My gynecologist feels that it will be easier to get mammagrams done in the future if the implant is placed under the muscle on the good side.
What are your feelings on this?
Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer all of our many questions.
Barb
