I thought I had answered pretty much every question that could be asked on this board but you changed my opinion on that one...
It is like the conditioning that runners or any other endurance athlete acquires from years of practicing what they do. Our surgeries are usually less than 8-12 hours individually and more like 5-7 but still significant. So wear tennis shoes, stand up straight, have your food and water before you start (avoid coffee!) and focus on the job at hand.
Good question, if we could just get the DaVinci robot to do microsurgery maybe I could do it from home!
