My sister just came down with BRCA2+ mutation, though older than me, she seems to be in better shape at 39, with no signs of cancer in the breasts/ovaries yet. However, she has only just had her very first screenings since my breast cancer and BRCA2+ dx this year. I still thing she'd make an optimal skin/nipple sparring subject...
What are your suggestions/risks/complications for someone who would prefer to do the oopherectomy/mastectomy with muscle sparing flap procedure both at the same time. Unlike me, she has also already had all her children, no irregular pap smears along the way, no c-sections, one miscarriage... Hence we feel the ooph alone, not the full hysterectomy yet would suffice. Any thoughts? I was referring her your way for the flap procedures, but do you do a lot of these combined surgeries too at Nola, and do you feel they are safe?
