Dear Mrs. D,
Your experience is actually very normal rather than unusual. The numbness referred to is usually patchy in the breast skin and the primary numbness issue is that of the nipple. The soreness that you feel is related to the internal work to rebuild the breast it will fade in time and is experienced by most.
