That Fruit Tree represents...

I never quite understood whose love that fruit tree represent. Man Kui wants to grow it (new beginning with Yau Wai) and when she left again (second time), Yau Wai was so upset that he did his best to take care of that tree. But in the last episode when Ah Poon came back, seems like that fruit tree represent the love between the two of them, not the love between Yau Wai and Man Kui.
Any thoughts?
