Using Phototherapy With Men To Explore Male Gender Identity & Sexual Orientation Issues

Dear All,
I am a student on the MA in Group and Intercultural Therapy at the Goldsmiths College - Psychotherapeutic Unit - London - I am writing an essay about working with male sexual identity and sexual orientation issues. This essay is theoretical only since it does not present a case study. I would appreciate any sharing of ideas, information, suggested readings, etc

dear jose, I am a certified Sex Therapist and use phototherapy with patients. Recently I was seeing a man for " marital issues". He was vague about why he felt his wife was dissatified with him. When asked to bring in some family photos for a history gathering session, he responded with a photo of himself cross-dressed in feminine attire. The picture opened the door for something he had a hard time bringing up in words. He is not a transsexual and does not wish to engage in surgery or hormone therapy but sees his cross-dressing as his "minimum daily rquirement" of his feminine side. He loves his wife and wishes to remain in the marriage. He hopes she will tolerate his cross-dressing. you may find Vern Bullough's book , "Cross Dressing SEX, and Gender" interesting for your essay.He gives many "Intercultural " examples. Catherine.

I see from Jose's recent posting to this thread that he and you are now corresponding "back-channel" (privately, directly) -- However, I'm writing to say that I'm sure that the rest of us reading this message thread would still love to know more about some DETAILS about your Dissertation (such as what it was about, HOW you used the photos in the process, what benefits you think they provided (compared with if you hadn't used them), what kind of results happened, etc etc...
PLEASE tell us more info???
and also the TITLE of it (so that I can add it to the list on the "Student Theses/Dissertations/Papers" page of my main PhotoTherapy website!!)
Also re: the article it became, in the Art Therapy Journal, could you also please give us the full citation for the article -- (you gave us its location, but not its TITLE(!)
So if you would provide this info for both, then that way we can FIND these things!
finally, my deep thanks also for DOING this fascinating work in taking PhotoTherapy in yet another new direction!
