Re: 9/11 & Therapeutic Photography
Posted by Judy Weiser on 10/26/2003, 1:32 pm, in reply to "9/11 & Therapeutic Photography" David Friend is someone I have had a lot of contact with and so I just want to mention here that his request is honorable (and one that I suggested he post!), in the sense that he is preparing a high-quality article about how photos are being used to help people heal re: 9/11. Although he is a journalist and not a therapist, I have read many of his writings and find them very professional, deeply thoughtful and thought-provoking, and of high caliber of ethics and respect for those whose stories he is permitted to share. So IF any of you are doing such work, I would suggest you contact him -- I can guarantee you that he will use your information ONLY with your full written advance permission. What I mean here is that, if I myself had been doing such work, I would have no hesitation to tell him about it in general terms (respecting client confidentiality of course, which he is equally committed to doing)... so I just thought I'd add my "vote of confidence" here to his request. If you are unsure about what he does, please just contact him to ask more and to request copies of his previous publications, which he will be happy to send you. I think you'll be impressed -- I was!
