Re: Video Therapy with Residential Children Having Profound Trauma Histories
Posted by Judy Weiser, Grp Administrator I know that you and I have individually corresponded about your projects "back-channel" (one-to-one), but in reviewing messages on this page, I realized that perhaps other readers might benefit from knowing about some of the early resources that exist re: VideoTherapy (which, as you yourself know, I used to teach over 20 years ago..). So I'm using this response to your message to provide a small list of some of the earliest publications about using Video in, or as, therapy -- and maybe if other readers have more recent publications to recommend, they will hopefully add them by replying to this message. here's all the (early) ones I'm aware of -- including some that I myself authored (all include mention of use of video in/as therapy, though not all the titles include the word "video" itself): **VideoTherapy Bibliography** Berger, Milton M., Ed. MORE Re: Video Therapy with Residential Children Having Profound Trauma Histories
Posted by Judy Weiser, Grp Administrator including my own, today, where I describe some of my OWN early work using Video as an active "co-therapist" in my counseling work. I don't want to duplicate the posting here, but there's a lot of info in my message there, which might be of use re: using the video in therapy, along with some very interesting postings by others there, about their use of it "as" therapy. That thread is titled "Re: Therapeutic Videography" and the first posting was in October 2002 Judy (Weiser)

Re: Video Therapy with a child war survivor with PTSD
Posted by Rachel O'Rourke First I want to thank you both for posting these messages. Craig your work sounds amazing and Judy I use your book on phototherapy constantly in my practice as an art therapist. I wanted to let you both know about an article I wrote in 2001 based on my video therapy work with a child war survivor suffering with PTSD. Here is the online link to the article "Anya's Movies. (Project Statement).(environmental video therapy for treating children's traumatic memories)" I'm working on another article based on my current video therapy work with girls with eating disorders. There is a lack of current literature and conversation regarding video therapy, so thank you both for your postings. I am very interested in an ongoing dialogue and Judy I am wondering if you have considered editing or writing a current book on video therapy? I would love to work on a project to get a range of voices published on this form of therapy. Thanks,

Re: Video Therapy with a child war survivor with PTSD
Posted by Pieter Pienaar (South Africa) I am currently working on a thesis in South Africa in which I am going to attempt to use video as in integrating medium in counseling people in need of self-insight. I will try to follow the link given in the above text. But I am seriously considering referring to your completed works/articles about video. I am struggling to find current video work to refer to. Thanks to Judy's website, we can meet! Pieter Pienaar
