PhotoTherapy (FotoTerapia) Lectures and Workshops in Italy - January 19-21 2006
Posted by Judy Weiser, Administrator The first set of events I'm doing is for a Conference in Lucca, January 19-21: On the first morning, I will give an introductory Lecture Presentation about PhotoTherapy Techniques (and also a small bit about Therapeutic Photography*) -- and then in the afternoon do a short experiential workshop. Each of these is for two hours. [ *for an explanation about the differences between these two, see the second half of the page at: www.phototherapy-centre.com.comparisons.htm -- and for a summary in Italian about PhotoTherapy, see www.phototherapy-centre.com/italian.htm ] And then on Jan 20 & 21 I will teach a 1.5 day Introductory Workshop for professionals (9 to 5 on Friday, and then 9 to 1 on Saturday). Please note that if you are not a professional therapist you might not qualify for taking the Workshop (check with me soon about this though as this rule is a bit flexible -- I myself make the decision, so contact me quickly if you want to do that)... If you are a student contact me personally at jweiser@phototherapy-centre.com to see if you can attend (or not) on a "special-condition basis" only... Note that although I myself will be speaking in English, these events will also be translated into Italian (hopefully simultaneously but I'm not sure yet!)... The Conference itself is an event aimed at introducing the various arts therapies to not only the professional staff there but also to the larger community (of therapists and the general public too). Art therapists and other professionals will be coming from elsewhere in Italy as well as from other countries; some of those attending might be from the community of consumers of these services -- it is going to be a very multi-focused event. I don't know much more in detail, but if you will go to: including contact information with the Coordinator, Dr. Carmine Parrella, who speaks excellent English and German in addition to Italian -- and also on that page you can also download a full pdf with more information for each of these three different events... I had originally hoped to stop over in other European countries -- or UK -- on my way home from Lucca (plane change in Frankfurt so would not cost much for another group to bring me to teach elsewhere from that airport) -- so that I could accept invitations to teach or lecture in other countries, but the advance-notification time is just too short for this trip soon (which I myself only got short notice about). However they tell me they will also likely be inviting me to return again later this year to do a longer training workshop again in Lucca (either June or September), and so maybe some of you know of a program, agency, or professional association in your own location who might want to have me stop over on my way home from one of these other Italian trips... or maybe you'll want to come to lovely Tuscany in those months??? Finally, *IF* I get enough interest from those of you who I have already trained before, who might now be interested in doing a more intensive "training of trainers" Workshop (because I'm not intending to keep doing this forever!): hoping to see some of you soon, in Italy or elsewhere!! Re: am I still in time???
Posted by Judy Weiser, Administrator I am sorry to tell you this, but... I have already returned from this Italy trip, last week. I was there for two weeks and did the following: What I would suggest is that you make contact with some of these people, who are likely to be "carrying this idea forward", themselves... The best way I can think of to do this, is to contact the person who was in charge of arranging the events (see below) and try to "network" that way. There are now many people in Italy who are The Lucca events were coordinated by a psychologist, Dr. Carmine Parrella, who was already doing this kind of work before we met. He is also involved in a Conference planned for November in Rome, in association with "TeatroVideoTerapia" group of Oliviero Rossi's, so perhaps you can arrange to go to that one... He can be found at: carmine.parrella@tin.it -- and you can contact him at work, through his Secretary, at: The two people who coordinated my evening Lecture in Firenze were: Paola Luzzatto and Cristina Scaramella. Paola is at: paola.luzzatto@fastwebnet.it (phone: 333 8649183) and Cristina, who is the Coordinator of the Art Therapy Group there -- her email is: crismella@katamail.com -- phone: 055 221811 I hope this helps -- and I have now added your contact info to the "Notification List" that I keep, for letting people know if I ever return to Italy again... best regards, Judy (Weiser)
