Iam a finnish Occupational Therapist. I just finished ny Thesis about using collage-technique with Anorexia Nervosa patients, in an Occupational Therapy group.
My clients made collages by using three activities; painting, writing and photography. In this photography -part I used Judy Weiser's Photo Therayp techniques as an inspiration an partly as a material in the group.
The results were amazing. My clients really liked the Photo Therapy -activities. As one part of the collage they took their own self-portraits. I found that using Photo Therapy it is possible to reach deeper level in dealing with issues such as anorexia nervosa's connection to self-expression.
In the future Iam going to continue working with children who suffer from different kinds of neurological problems and also with anorexia ervosa and bulimia patints. IAm really interested in sharing ideas and thoughts about using Photo Therpay -techniques clients suffering different kinds of mental problems.
In my Thesis in focused in looking at the self-expression during the group sessions.
So, I decided to introduce myself in this Discussion Group. Looking forward to share ideas and thoughts with others!
