Hello, my name is Richard from Brisbane, Australia and run an organisation that provides visual imagery training to marginalised groups, mainly as a means of communication. As a photojournalist I am a very firm believer in the power of the photograph and the story it can tell and now, after two years of experimenting with my courses, I want to take a further step in researching the process of interpreting photos taken by these varying groups of people but, I have hit a brick wall.
My inquiry is; is there a proven model of photo interpretation that provides an objective assessment of a photograph taken by someone with a diagnosed mental health issue? I want this to be applied in the Therepeudic Photography field in particular but realise it could also be used effectively in Photo Therapy.
