Back in 1997 at the European Arts Therapies Confernce I co-presented a paper "Uniting two syzygistic therapies with one client" on the successful combination of Art Psychotherapy and Music therapy with one client with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (Asperger's Syndrome). The dimensions of the combination of visual and auditory based therapeutic engagement were uniquely successful at reaching this young man's potential emaotional capacity. We used object relations to analyse & describe what happenned, but neurobiology would have been an equally valid description.
