Last october I had the honour to present the method I developed to use photo-elicitation in mental health care to psychiatrists and nurses who visited the APA-congress in New Orleans. The method consists of group sessions and culminates in an exhibition. Patients make photographs of their lifeworld and then talk about it. It helps them to give meaning to illness experiences and also how they struggle to recover from illness and being a patient. There was a fervent interest in the matter and some people, psychiatrists and nurses, considered to implement a photo group themselves. So may-be the photo-instrument crosses the ocean to land in the States. Who knows.
