If I udnerstand what you are asking, there is very little work that has been set aside for research that is labled as photo therapy. of course dian arbus and nan goldins work is of such, but not titled. I was looking for "photo therapy" work to study while i began my own process, and found what i was looking for when i began looking for WHAT i expected to see out of a personal project, and not a project that would who up as a search.. aslo, i think the pivitiol point for me, was revisitng photos of me as a child, and then i understood... then i began my work.
