I do cat rescue in Salem County, N.J., and recently came across a cat who was tossed out behind a local pharmacy. It took two weeks for him to trust me - when I reached out and finally was able to touch him, he cowered as though I would hit him. I scooped him up, took him to the vets and had him neutered and brought up to date with shots. Unfortunately, he tested positive for Leukemia, but is neg. for AIDS. We named him Sinbad and he is a gorgeous tabby with white bib, approx. 1 to 2 years old. He is very affectionate and loves attention. I could have taken the easy way out and said to euthenize him, but when I picked him up behind the store, I promised him that I would find him a "mommy" and I am keeping my promise. He uses the litter pan well and seems as though he would get along nicely with another cat, however I don't allow my cats to socialize with him because of the Leukemia.
