Here is one more idea.
You may even want to take plans or a drawling to a VoTech school. The wood shop teacher or metal shop teacher may need a "small project"

: People do give these away,I did. You just need
: to keep the faith.
: Here are some links to web sites for the
: "do it yourselfer". There is even
: one made out of wood that someone may be
: able to make for her dog.
:
: Now is when you need to "pull" on
: people's heart strings. You need to tell
: people the dog's name, It's more personal
: that way.
:
: Here are some links.

: I would save this page as it is there home
: page and I'm sure it will change.

: This one has a pet chair made from a human
: chair.
:
: Here is what I did when I needed a pet
: wheelchair for Mickey my diciest yellow lab.
: 1. I called everyone I could think of to ask
: for help or a free chair.
: A. Local SPCA
: B. Local dog shelter
: C. every vet and animal hospital in
: "the book"
: D. There are allot of breed specific
: rescues to check with on the net.
:
: 2.I posted a wanted add on this forum and
: every site like this one. ( I got mine from
: a great Lady on this site)( I also gave
: Mickey's chair to Storm Werner a Shepperd
: from this site.
:
: 3. Post a wanted message on
: www.craigslist.org and freecycle.org.
: both of these sights can be posted and
: searched in your local area.
:
: 4. PULL OUT THE BIG GUNS
: Go to a local news team and suggest a short
: inspirational pet story done with your dog.
: At the end of the "inspirational pet
: story" ask for help.
:
: The last thing I'll ask of you is to give
: your pet wheel chair to someone in need. I
: tryed to give Mickey's chair to a local
: needy pet, but gave it to someone on this
: site.
: Good luck to you and your mom's Shepperd,
: and keep us posted.

: To make a long story short, my mom has a
: German Shepard who is 13years old, he is her
: best friend! He can see and hear perfectly
: fine, still tries to play and roll around,
: he has lil use of his back legs. He used to
: run outside around our kennel which little
: did we know, were destroying his knee's and
: hips. Last night, I caught my mom down on
: the floor with him. She had an appt this
: morning to have him put to sleep and she
: couldn't do it. She had put out an ad in the
: all the local papers and bulletin boards for
: a set of wheels or information on some and
: she had one call. A male caller called her
: and said that her ad had touched him and he
: wanted to help... he took down all our
: information and promised her to help so she
: was all happy and excited and we were even
: bidding on ebay and he said he would outbid
: us and buy them for her... well days went
: by, weeks and nothing and she was totally
: heartbroken! Im doing what i can trying to
: save up some money to buy the wheels for
: her... ive searched sites and I'm stuck, i
: dint know where to go from here... Can
: anyone give me any advice at all??
