Sometimes I wish they'd invest in an air conditioner. But what kind of punk rock journalist would I be if I didn't go and dig up all the dirt for your virgin eyes to read? The show started with The Scabies blasting my tired ass into a frenzy of unadulterated fun. These guys have been rockin' out some new tunes at the last few shows, so I hope they get into the studio soon to get them all on tape. They floored everyone by doing an 80's medley of all those pop hits we all know and loved. Personally, I'd like to see them carry out that Breakfast club/simple mids number a bit longer. Next The Psychodelics took the stage and played like they didn't give no ####. They were ripping through their hits like a crack addict buzzing out on adderol. At one point Jeremy grabbed a cymbal and smashed it on the floor. At which Matt berated him later for not ####ing up their shit. These guys get tighter and tighter with every performance. The Deadbeats from South bend IN took the stage and unleashed their brand of early 80's hardcore punk onto an unsuspecting crowd. They were fast, furious and above all pissed off! What more could you ask for. By the time The Jerk-offs set up their stuff, I was drenched head to toe in sweat. perhaps I should have held off on the dancing during the Deadbeats set, but sometimes you just get the knack to cut loose. The jerk-offs were also from South Bend and even had some releases out on Beer City. And if you know the kind of roster Beer City has, then you know what to expect from these Indiana Boys. The guitarist looked like a gutter version of Louis Skulnick from 'Revenge of the Nerds'. But there was nothing nerdy about this band. I can tell these guys are almost deaf,'cause they blasted their shit at full volume for their hyper hardcore punk noise. It was a bit too crusty for me at times, but still rooted in that classic punk vibe. Hopefully they'll make their way back this way soon!
